Exercising for Fast Weight Loss And Diet

You can safely lose 3 or more pounds a week at home with a healthy diet and lots of exercise,

How to Lose Weight Fast

If you burn 500 more calories than you eat every day for a week, you should lose about 1-2 pounds.
If you want to lose weight faster, you'll need to eat less and exercise more.
For instance, if you take in 1,050 to 1,200 calories a day, and exercise for one hour per day, you could lose 3-5 pounds in the first week, or more if you weigh more than 250 pounds. It's very important not to cut calories any further -- that's dangerous.
Limiting salt and starches may also mean losing more weight at first -- but that's mostly fluids, not fat.
"When you reduce sodium and cut starches, you reduce fluids and fluid retention, which can result in up to 5 pounds of fluid loss when you get started," says Michael Dansinger, MD, of NBC's The Biggest Loser show.

Diets for Fast Weight Loss

Dansinger recommends eating a diet that minimizes starches, added sugars, and animal fat from meat and dairy foods. For rapid weight loss, he recommends focusing  on fruits, veggies, egg whites, soy products, skinless poultry breasts, fish, shellfish, nonfat dairy foods, and 95% lean meat.
  • Eat vegetables to help you feel full.
  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Get tempting foods out of your home.
  • Stay busy -- you don't want to eat just because you're bored.
  • Eat only from a plate, while seated at a table. No grazing in front of the 'fridge.
  • Don't skip meals.
Keeping a food journal -- writing down everything you eat -- can also help you stay on track.
"Even if you write it down on a napkin and end up throwing it away, the act of writing it down is about being accountable to yourself and is a very effective tool for weight loss,"
Besides jotting down what you ate, and when, you might also want to note how you were feeling right before you ate it. Were you angry, sad, or bored? We often focus so much on foods and calories, but our emotions are a huge part of our eating habits.
If you see a persistent pattern in your emotional eating, please consider talking to a counselor about it. They can be a big help in finding other ways to handle your feelings.

Exercising for Fast Weight Loss

It's time to move more! Losing weight requires close to an hour a day of moderate exercise, one study shows.
Plan to do cardio and strength training.
"Cardio burns the most calories, so it is ideal for fast weight loss, but afterward you need to include a few hours a week of strength training," Dansinger says. To burn the most fat, try to break a sweat after your warm-up and keep sweating for the entire hour, Dansinger says.
If you're not exercising now, and you have a chronic condition or a lot of weight to lose, it's wise to check in with your health care provider first. They'll be rooting for you! And they'll make sure that you're ready to work out.
Pace yourself. Don't do too much, too soon -- work your way up to help prevent injury.
One way to step up the intensity is to do interval training -- brief bursts of high-intensity, followed by a more mellow pace, and repeating that pattern throughout your workout.
"Interval training allows people to work harder without having to spend the entire time at the higher level, and over time, the more you do it, the easier it becomes to burn more calories,"

Fad Diets and Crash Diets

I know how tempting diet crazes can sound, especially if you have a lot of weight to lose. You hear about stars who did it and look incredible.
But remember,  if a diet plan sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Also, please skip any programs that promote detoxification pills, laxatives, fasting, or potions, and any that promise weight loss faster than 2-3 pounds per week.
The truth is that cutting calories below 1,050-1,200 per day is counterproductive, because you need strong muscles to be able to exercise effectively.
"When you eat too few calories, you lose fat but also precious muscle, which is the worst thing you could do because it slows your metabolism and makes it more difficult to increase exercise intensity or duration," Dansinger says.
Fad diets also set you up for failure by depriving you of what you want. You can't eat like that for long, and it's too likely that you'll rebel and end up back where you started. You deserve better than that!

You Can Stop Doing 5 Most Overrated Exercises

You’re a busy person, right? You want your time at the gym to be well spent, not wasted on exercises that won’t get you anywhere in terms of fitness or strength. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of misinformation out there, and that’s resulted in many of us using precious gym time doing things that are either totally useless or not as result-spurring as other options. Read on to find out which five overrated exercises you can cut from your gym routine.

1 Abdominal and Side Plank

These core-focused exercises certainly have their uses for beginners: abdominal and side planks help strengthen core muscles and improve overall stability.

But because these are static exercises (as in, you’re holding one position rather than flexing and unflexing your muscles), they quickly lose their potency once you reach a certain strength level, and then you’re pretty much just hanging out.

If you can already hold the plank for 30-60 seconds and you’re not looking to set a Guinness world record then try switching to exercises that challenge your stability dynamically, like a set of push-ups or more difficult variations of the plank.

Ultimately, once you can hold the plank or any other variation for 60 seconds or more it’s time to change. Continuously doing the plank over and over again will only slow down your progress.

Challenge your body’s ability to maintain a stable core while moving in a controlled manner and you will not only be able to improve faster but you’ll also help prevent injuries in the long run.

 2 Traditional Crunches

Note that in our dynamic exercise suggestion we did not mention crunches. While many people think that doing a hundred crunches a day will get them rock solid abs, it simply isn’t the case. Crunches only target one small abdominal muscle group, and can also place an undue amount of strain on the back and neck.
Think about adding some balance ball exercises to your routine instead, which tend to offer more variation and require more muscle action to stabilize your body with each movement.

3 Bench Press

Although it’s a staple of gym buffs everywhere, the bench press is overrated mainly because too many beginners stick to this chest exercise thinking that it’s the only thing they need. But according to Poliquin Performance,
benchpress“As a general guideline – and this applies both to athletes and to the general population – never perform more than 20 percent of your training volume for pressing exercises from a prone position. In other words, 80 percent of your presses should be performed from other angles, such as with an incline or military press. Further, at least 50 percent of pressing exercises should be performed with dumbbells, as they offer a more natural movement pattern and provide a more challenging workout for the muscles that stabilize the shoulder.”
Basically the bench press does have its place in a properly structured program. Just make sure not to make it your main focus every time you hit the gym. Doing too much horizontal work can lead to serious rotator cuff problems because the muscles in the shoulders develop an imbalance.
So if you want to avoid the risk of ever having to go through a rotator cuff surgery, try following some of the guidelines outlined above.

 4 Seated Knee Extension

Along with the leg press, the seated knee extension is one lower-body weight machine exercise that can be replaced with a way more effective substitute.
leg-extensionLike most weight machines, seated knee extensions target only one muscle group – in this case the quadriceps – in a motion that doesn’t translate well to other applications.
Plus, you don’t engage core and stabilizing muscles, so you miss out on a good opportunity to work your entire body.
Replace seated knee extensions with a walking dumbbell lunge or front squats.

5 Hanging Knee Raise

hanging knee raise
This is an exercise that’s got the opposite problem from some of those mentioned previously: it’s too hard for most of the people who try to do it, which means that unless you’ve got enough training experience under your belt, you’re probably not doing it correctly. Incorrect hanging knee raises not only fail to strengthen the muscles you’re intending to bulk up or tone, they also put you at risk for injury.

You Can't Lose Fat If Cycle Running

A lot of people hope to lose fats and a lot of weight, but lots of things can stand in the way of a good regimen. Not every single fat loss regimen out there is built to work for you, and not every single fat loss regimen out there can actually work well. Any doctor or nutritionist can tell you that. You may not be able to lose fat if you have underlying disorders that will keep you from losing them. For instance, if you are of the right weight, but you have only a small amount of body fat, then you may be advised to not lose it since your body needs some amount of fat as well. If you are a woman, you need some body fat to keep your menstrual cycle running.

The issue of losing body fat is controversial, especially with anorexia and bulimia looming in the background. Fat is an especially good target for loss because it can tax on your immune system, and it can take away a lot of metabolic efficiency if it is present in too high amounts. There are some things that stand in the way of losing fat easily. You cannot lose fat if you have a thyroid disorder, for instance. Some thyroid hormones control the ability of your body to digest and absorb nutrients, and if this control is lost because of under production or over production of hormones, then it can be harder for you to lose fat without some form of endocrine therapy.

Along those lines, you may be unable to lose fat if you have an underlying hormonal problem. If you have imbalances in your dietary and reproductive hormones, you will not be able to lose fat as easily. You will need to visit a doctor and ask about therapies that can help you lose fat without having to undergo surgery or do anything drastic to your diet that could be dangerous for you.

You cannot lose fat if you shift from diet to diet, with the hope of losing fat. You need to talk to your doctor about a good diet for you, and you need to stick to this diet instead of shifting out. The same goes for your exercise regimen. You can't lose fat if you simply just exercise without a good diet, or if you simply diet without exercise. Talk to your doctor and nutritionist about ways that you can employ to lose weight.

Something Different For Your Health Fitness Exercise

Be inspired with these great workout tips!

Let's get down to it. A range of health fitness exercise tips which will cover a whole body workout.
You can find something that appeals to you and add it to your existing workout.
Or if this is all new to you then try each exercise and see what's best.
You're an individual..
..so each exercise can be adapted by you for your body.
From time to time you'll see "Avoid Injury" SideNotes. These are my tips from personal experience.
Essential Warm Up Exercises
A good warm up will prepare your body for activity, prevent injury and improve your performance. Look at it as an intro to your exercise. There are 3 main parts of your warm up:

  • Loosening Up Exercises
  • This is what I call "oiling the joints". Move your joints steadily, either up and down, side to side or circular movements (backwards and forwards) depending on which joint it is. This will circulate the fluid that will help them move freely.
Which joints for warm up exercises?
Toes, ankles, knees, hips, spine, shoulders, neck, elbows, wrists and fingers.
I recommend that order, but always do shoulders before neck. Repeat each movement 6 to 8 times before moving on to the next joint. You can spend longer on joints that will be specifically used in your exercise.

Avoid Injury SideNote for warm up exercises
Take it easy! Each movement should be smooth. Any jerky or sudden sharp movements at this stage can result in injury. This is NOT stretching. That will come later.

  • Pulse Raising Exercises
  • These will gradually raise your heart rate and warm your body. This will prepare your cardiovascular system for activity and warm your muscles up so that it is safe to stretch them.
These warm up exercises should make you breathe faster, but NOT be out of breath. Examples are:
(Less strenuous) Walking, jogging, sidestepping, shuffling, dodging, pivoting, low jumps, skipping (More strenuous).
It's fun to be imaginative with these warm up exercises and adapt them to your sport or workout. For example you could throw and catch a ball whilst jogging. That will also prepare your hand-eye co-ordination, if your activity requires it.
It's a good idea to do a combination of these warm up exercises, going from less strenuous and ending with more strenuous. This will ensure a gradual increase.

  • Warm Up Stretching
  • These static (i.e. no bouncing) stretches will gently lengthen your muscles to prepare them for further activity. This will help to prevent pulls, strains and other injuries.
Stretches should only be done when your muscles are warm. Move into the stretch slowly, hold it still for 10 to 12 seconds and move out of the stretch slowly.
Take the stretch to the point where you feel mild discomfort. There should be no feeling of pain. Try and relax whilst stretching, breathe as normal.

Save Time At The Gym in 6 Step

Working 40 hours a week, family responsibilities, social engagements… with such busy schedules, it's no surprise that many of us are trying to minimize the time we spend at the gym.
Here are six tips to streamline your trip to the gym without sacrificing your workout.
    Prepare Yourself
Before going to the gym, make sure you are fully prepared for your visit. Untangle your headphones, create a playlist at home, fill your water bottle… all of these things add up and waste precious gym time, so make sure you're ready to go as soon as you step onto the gym floor.
    Do Something You Enjoy
Exercise can seem like a chore if it's something you don't enjoy, so find an activity that helps you burn calories while boosting your mood and relieving stress at the same time. After a frustrating day, for example, try a yoga class to find your happy place while strengthening and stretching your muscles.
    Avoid Peak Hours
If possible, schedule your workouts around peak hours when other gym goers are also trying to fit in their workouts. That way, you have your choice of exercise equipment and avoid waiting for your favorite machine.
    Utilize High-Intensity Intervals
Even though you might want to minimize the time you spend at the gym, you can still maximize your workout with some high-intensity intervals, which burn some serious calories. Try alternating one minute of high-intensity activity with two minutes of steady-paced exercise. For example, try sprinting intervals during your treadmill workout or adding bursts of plyometrics to your strength training routine.
    Multitask Your Muscles
Another way to maximize your calorie burn is by performing multiple moves that work several muscles at once. For instance, do crunches on a stability ball to engage your entire core as well as your arms and legs. The more muscles you can work at once, the less time you'll spend at the gym.
    Create A Shower Strategy
If you shower at the gym after your workout, create a game plan to get you in and out of the locker room–fast. If you take a group exercise class, bring your towel and flip flops to class with you, so you can make a beeline for the showers once class is over. You'll avoid stopping by your locker and waiting in line. Additionally, hang your undergarments on a hook in your locker, so you don't end up fumbling around looking for them in your gym bag.
